Fay Goodman, where Yoshino's design originaly came from!
Yoshino's outfit comes from Iatio martial arts uniform basically. Consisting of: kosode kimono, juban,
unamori-hakama, tabi & zori. Yoshino's cloths also resemble that of an Edo-era man's of the samurai
class, because I wanted her to look different than typical woman warriors featured in other
anime/manga series. Her appearance was based on Fay Goodman (pictured), from "The Ultimate Book
of Martial Arts".
two tengu duking it out
Kagekiri’s true demon form is that of the Tengu- a creature of Japanese myth. There are different
variations of this creature: Karasu-tengu, Konoha-tengu, Ko-tengu, Konsha-tengu & Daitengu. They
are said to be incredible swordsmen & live in the mountains, far from humans. Tengu aren't evil, but
mischievous, had moral purpose & often in comical stories because their so gullible.

Tengu are shape shifters & are seen in these forms: (1) a normal human (2) human with an
unnaturally long nose (3) human with black crow wings (4) half human/half crow hybrid (5) a normal
crow (which is rare)
cool statue of Minomoto, Musashi
Takemaru, Arashi appearance & martial arts style (& poses) is based directly off of the strongest
swordsman that ever lived- Musashi, Minamoto the undefeated bushi. However, Takemaru's
personality is not based on Musashi's.

Musashi Minomoto was unique for he used a two sword style, & of course completely undefeated in
every battle. Later in his life, he wrote a book titled "Book of the Five Rings". In this book, he discusses
the fighting techniques, battle strategies & how to win a battle. He wrote in different scrolls & broke it up
under the five elements as technique's.

Akatsuki is based on someone I know.
a kitsune in human disguise
Shizen is based off of the famous kitsune- Japanese Fox. In folklore, their famous for various types of
magic including: transformation, bewitching, creating mini-dimensions, illusions & spiting kitsune-bi (fox
fire). They can change into a human form, however it is never perfect. Either their tail or ears appear in
their human guise. One can tell a kitsune in human form by peering at their reflection in the water, and
a foxes tail shows! They hates & fears dogs, Oni and Dragons because they can suck the essence out
of the kitsune, killing them.

He's an original character I created. I wanted a character with constant dueling forces against itself, in
other words that he's always in a state of being pulled in two directions at the same time. Were does
his loyalties lye- serving his master that saved his life or defending Yoshino's life? Talk about one
confused character. His name is also special, it means Nature, also dueling forces!

I'd talk more about kitsune, but foxlore is very complicated & quite lengthy. It's a field of study all on it's
own. Perhaps in the future I'll make a kitsune page?
Iteza is based on the Przewalski Horse (aka Asiatic Wild Horse or Tahki) native to Tibet. Unfortunately,
this breed is extinct in the wild due to a number of factors. The only ones left are in zoo's & the few
lucky ones from zoo's that were released back into the wild.

They are the only true wild horse left. Meaning that they are un-trainable & un-ridable. Even the
position of the eyes, large skull, short stocky build & chromosome count is different than the modern
horse. I personally draw Iteza looking a little bit like the way the Chinese make their jade horse statues.
I also used the Fjord horse breed as reference since they look similar.
