Manga is Japanese for comic book. It's either made in
Japan or a comic book made in the style of a manga.
The famous Japanese artist Hokusai Katsushika was
famous for his Ukiyo-e illustrations. In 1812, he created
a book of black & white sketches that he called manga.
It was called Ehon Sakigake (Illustrations of Heroes)
Museum no. E.15136-1886. It focused on legendary
stories of Japanese Mythology.
